Application (general)
The main deadline for applications for our December auditions in London is 1st of October of each year to start September the following year
The main deadline for late applications for our July auditions in London is 1st of May of each year to start the September of the same year
You may still apply after the deadline if you submit the application before the audition session commences: the decision to include your application will depend on if there is still space in the audition timetable. If the timetable is full you will be put on a waiting list; if no space becomes available and we cannot offer an audition, the fee will be refunded. For London auditions there is a higher fee for late applications.
If you live in the UK or Europe, it is LPMAM policy that you must attend the main London auditions. Other international candidates are requested to take steps that make attendance at an audition possible, but understand that you may prefer to apply by DVD performance. Please see below about DVD requirements.
Similarly, Opera candidates who are also considering Postgraduate Vocal Studies should only apply for Opera – again, the LPMAM assessment process for Opera automatically includes consideration for Postgraduate Vocal Studies.
If you wish to discuss the Application Process, or have any questions, please contact the Registry staff who will be able to assist and advise you. Open Days are arranged by individual departments – see our Departments page for links.
When you complete your CUKAS Personal Statement, please ensure you give details of:

DVD Recordings
In certain circumstances, for example applicants from Russia and the eastern Mediterranean, East Asia or North America (USA and Canada), the LPMAM will accept DVD performances instead of a live audition for most Principal Studies. All DVD submissions must be received by 15th June and must be authenticated by a person of authority. You must complete both the standard London application form and the video form, which is available on request from admissions@lpmam.com.
Unfortunately, recordings sent to us without the appropriate forms will not be processed. Please note that if you audition by recording, you will not normally be eligible for an entrance scholarship. DVD applications submitted after 15th June will incur the late application fee to cover additional administrative costs, and will only be processed at the discretion of the relevant Head of Faculty. Candidates applying for transfer to year 2 or year 3 of the BMus programme will need to attend a live audition.Visas
If you require a letter of support in order to apply for a visa to attend an audition in London, please contact admissions@lpmam.com after you have submitted your LPMAM application.
